WTO Panel Established on Indonesia’s Measure on Agricultural Products

On May 20, 2015, WTO Dispute Settlement Body established a single panel to examine complaints by New Zealand and the United States concerning import regulation by Indonesia on horticultural products, animals and animal products.

Both New Zealand and the United States noted that Indonesia’s measures were inconsistent with core WTO obligations under GATT, Agreement on Agriculture, Import Licensing Agreement and Agreement on Pre-shipment Inspection.

Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, Norway, Paraguay, Singapore and Chinese Taipei reserved their third-party rights to participate in the panel’s proceedings.
