On September 4, 2015, Vietnam has notified WTO Committee on Safeguard that it initiated a safeguard investigation on monosodium glutamate (HS Code: 2922.42.20) on September 1, 2015. The case was initiated based on an application by Vedan Vietnam Joint Stock Limited Company which shows an increasing volume of import of the subject goods that cause or threaten to cause serious injury to the domestic industry.

Vietnam allows any request for information concerning this investigation, as well as any interested parties who want to present any evidence, documents and opinions pertaining to this investigation to be submitted within 30 days after the initiation of the investigation to Vietnam Competition Authority.
