US DOC and ITC initiated sunset review on steel concrete reinforcing bars from Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine
04 July 2012

On 2 July 2012, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) initiated the second sunset reviews of the antidumping orders on steel concrete reinforcing bars from Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine.

The DOC will examine whether the revocation of a dumping order will likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping. Meanwhile, the ITC will also conduct a separate sunset review. A negative injury determination by the ITC will result in the revocation of the AD order, regardless the DOC’s decision.

The foreign producers should respond to the ITC’s institution notice and questionnaire in order for a full review to be done. The deadline for submission of responses to the ITC is on 1 August 2012.
