Post sunset review, Cavendish Banana from the Philippines is subject to 35% antidumping duty in Indonesia

In May 2011, domestic industry in Indonesia initiated sunset review on the imposition of antidumping duty on Cavendish banana (HS 0803.00.90.00) from the Philippines. Previously Cavendish Banana from two producers in the Philippines was subject to 49.35% of antidumping duty based on Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 81/PMK.010/2006 dated 28 September 2006. The duty was valid for 5 years until 28 September 2011.

Based on the sunset review report issued by the Indonesian Antidumping Committee (KADI), on 17 November 2011, the Minister of Finance decided to extend the imposition of the antidumping duty at the rate of 35% on the Cavendish Banana from the all producers/ exporters in the Philippines. This decision is stated in Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 175/PMK.011/2011 on imposition of antidumping duty on imported Cavendish Banana. This duty is applicable immediately on the date of the issuance of the regulation until 17 November 2016.
