Panel Established in Dispute between Indonesia and EU over Biodiesel
04 September 2015

On 31August 2015, the DSB established a panel to examine the complaint brought by Indonesia against the EU.

Previously, Indonesia had requested an establishment of a panel on 30 June 2015, however at its meeting on 20 July 2015, the DSB deferred Indonesia’s request.

Indonesia considered that EU’s Basic Anti-Dumping Regulation andanti dumping measure imposed in 2013 by the European Union on imports of biodiesel originating in Indonesia and Argentina are inconsistent with the EU’s obligations under the Antidumping Agreement, Agreement Establishing the WTO and GATT 1994.

Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Turkey and the United States reserved their third-party rights to participate in the panel’s proceedings.
