Based on a petition by PT. Gunung Garuda, on 12 February 2014, Indonesian Safeguard Committee (KPPI) initiated Safeguard Investigation on imports of:

1. I Section with height or width of 100 mm up to 600 mm and H Section with height 100 mm up to 350 mm, from other alloy steel, which does not further worked than hot-rolled, hot-drawn or extruded, under HS Code 7228.70.10.00; and

2. I Section with height or width of 100 mm up to 600 mm and H Section with height 100 mm up to 350 mm, from other alloy steel, which further worked than cold-rolled, under HS Code 7228.70.90.00.

The Petitioner provided that increased import of the subject goods cause or threaten to cause serious injury. Further, the Petitioner also showed negative development on production, domestic sales, level of employment, inventory, capacity utilization, profit and losses and share of domestic market that is taken by increased imports.
