Indonesian Safeguard Committee (KPPI) Stops The Extended Investigation of Imported Dextrose Monohydrate

On 31st July 2013 KPPI announced that it has terminated the extended investigation of safeguard measure on imported Dextrose Monohydrate. KPPI cannot proceed with the investigation because the applicant, PT. Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo Tbk., did not submit the application within the timeframe set out in Government Regulation No. 34 of 2011.

Imported Dextrose Monohydrate was subject to safeguard duty from 24th August 2009 to 23rd August 2012. In 2008, Indonesia imported 23,8 million kg of Dextrose Monohydrate and after the implementation of safeguard measure, the volume of the imported product declined to 22,5 million kg in 2010 and 19 million kg in 2011.

However, PT. Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo, Tbk. is still suffering from the loss as the volume of imported Dextrose Monohydrate was still high in 2012. After the safeguard measure has ended in 2012, the volume of imported Dextrose Monohydrate is now increasing to 32,6 million kg.
