On January 5, 2015 the World Trade Organization published a notification concerning Indonesia’s proposal to impose safeguard measure on imported wire rod in form of bars and rods, hot-rolled, in irregular wound coils, of iron or non-alloy steel or of other alloy steel, with, which taken all together, particular size of circular cross-section, diameters, chemical compositions and Harmonized System Codes as follow:

This case was initiated on January 17, 2014 based on an application brought by JWK Law Office on behalf of PT. Ispat Indo and PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. Based on the investigation, Indonesian Safeguard Committee (KPPI) found serious injury or threat thereof which is caused by increased imports.
WTO Members with a substantial interest who would like to request for a consultation shall notify KPPI no later than 14 January 2015.
