Indonesia Initiates Safeguard Investigation on Dextrose Monohydrate

On July 14, 2015, Indonesian Safeguard Committee (KPPI) initiated a safeguard investigation on imported Dextrose Monohydrate based on an application submitted by PT. Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo Tbk.

Imported product subject to this investigation is “glucose, not containing fructose or containing in the dry state less than 20% by weight of fructose, not including dextrose monohydrate pharmaceutical grade, dextrose monohydrate pyrogen free, maltodextrine, and dextrose anhydrous, under HS. Codes Ex. 1702.30.10.00”.

 

Based on the data submitted by the Applicant, imports of the subject good had increased significantly from 1,485 tons in 2012 to 23,788 tons in 2013 and 15,453 tons in 2014, with biggest shares of import in 2014 are People's Republic of China (88.5%), France (6.2%), and Italy (4.3%), which has caused or threaten to cause serious injury to the Applicant.

 

KPPI gives an opportunity for those having substantial interests and wishing to be considered as interested parties in this investigation to submit a written request within 22 days from the date of initiation.
