India Begins Anti Dumping Investigation Concerning Imports of “Polyester Spun Yarn” Originating from China, Nepal, Vietnam and Indonesia.

On 21 May 2020 Government of India initiated anti dumping investigation on imported Polyester Spun Yarn from Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal and China based on a request filed by M/s Aabhas Spinners Private Limited, M/s Arisudana Industries Limited, M/s. Jaanvi Spinners Private Limited, M/s. Krishna Ganga Spinning Mills Private Limited, M/s Shree Nagani Silk Mills Private Limited, M/s. Suryalakshmi Cottom Mills Limited, M/s. Suryalata Spinning Mills Limited, and M/s Century Suryauday Spinning Mills Private Limited as the domestic producer of the product concerned on behalf of the Indian Industry.

 

The product under investigation is single yarn of polyester containing 97% or more by weight of polyester staple fibres, which also known as Spun Yarn and or Spun Poly. The Applicant have requested for dyed polyester yarn, mélange polyester yarn or coloured polyester yarn, and yarn coarser than 8s counts or finare than 45s counts are excluded from the scope of product under investigation. The Product Under Investigation is classified under sub-headings 55092100.

 

The period of investigation is 1st April 2018 – 30th September 2019 and the injury investigation period shall cover the periods April 2016 – March 2017, April 2017 – March 2018, April 2018 – March 2019 and the POI.

 

Based on the available information, the known exporters of the product concerned from Indonesia are PT. Lotus Indah Textile Industries, PT. Elegant Textile Industry, PT. Indo Liberty Textiles, PT. Apex Maritim Indonesia, PT. Dasar Rukun, and PT. Ramagloria Sakti Tekstil Industri. India allows producers/exporters to register as an interested pary within 40 days from the date of initiation.
