On 25 October 2017, the Government of Indonesia notified the findings of safeguard investigation, where it was concluded that the safeguard measures on I and H Sections of Other Alloy Steel needs to be extended to prevent or remedy recurrence of serious injury.
Through the Indonesian Committee for Trade Security (“Komite Pengamanan Perdagangan Indonesia”), an investigation regarding this issue was conducted to prove the necessity of the extension of the safeguard measures in question to prevent or restore the serious injuries suffered by the domestic industry that is still currently undergoing adjustment efforts.
On 16 January 2018, the Government of Indonesia has been notified the extension of safeguard measures to the WTO under Article 12.1 (b) and 12.1 (c) of the Agreement on Safeguard, it is known that the Republic of Indonesia notifies to extend the imposition of a safeguard measure in the form of ad valorem safeguard duty on the importation of Subject Goods, for a period of 3 (three) years, as per the request of the Delegation of Indonesia through the issuance of Minister of Finance Regulation No. 2/PMK.010/2018 dated 4 January 201 , promulgated in the Berita Negara of the Republic of Indonesia Year 2018 Number 9.
